New Text To Speech Babil 3.0 in Czech

Babel Technologies has released the Czech language version of its Babil 3.0 TTS technology.
  Babil 3.0 is a Diphone-based text-to-speech software, built with a build-in library of pre-recorded
human speech diphones, for a more natural-sounding voice. With Babil 3.0 and InfoVox 330, Babel
now offers TTS in 18 languages

  Technical specifications

Babel releases Embedded Version of its MBROLA synthetizer : MBROLAE

Babel Technologies has released Multi-Band Resynthesis OverLap-Add speech
synthesis for Embedded applications (MBROLAE), the embedded version of Babel's
patented speech synthesis MBROLA module. This synthesis method, based on diphones
concatenation, enables the production of high quality speech, yet requires minimal
computational resources. This means that MBROLAE is ideally suited for the
embedded market. The Embedded version is highly-optimised and offers a very flexible
API that makes it suitable for a wide variety of embedded platforms, including DSPs,
RISC processors, and microcontrollers. Also, for TI DSP applications, its API has been
extended to be eXpress DSP compliant, allowing for easier integration on the various
available platforms that use the power of TI DSPs.

The MBROLAE is the synthesis component of Babel Technologies' Text-To-Speech
(TTS) Embedded solution, PocketBabil. However, it is positioned as a stand-alone module.
It requires a phonetic representation of the text to synthesize as input, giving 16-bits PCM
speech samples as output. In order to achieve this, the MBROLAE module uses SpeechFont
Databases which are available in various forms: multiple languages, voices and sampling
frequencies, as well as using various compression schemes.

The C54xDSP family from TI offers cost-effective and low-power DSPs for use in a large
number of today's cutting-edge applications, across diverse market sectors such as the mobile,
consumer and automotive industries. MBROLAE has been specifically designed for these market
sectors. Integrating the MBROLAE high-quality, low-footprint, Speech Synthesis on these devices
gives a considerable amount of added-value, even with little investment.

When implementing the MBROLAE patented Speech Synthesis to a C54x based platform, the
customer has a cost effective way of adding high quality, Speech Synthesis to their application.
In most cases, its design can be used with little or no hardware modifications. Furthermore,
because the MBROLAE is a language and voice independent module, it supports all Babel's
current languages (18 to date) and voices (dozens to date). Furthermore, customers benefit from
the knowledge and experience of Babel's award-winning team of engineers, with their years of
experience in the speech arena and embedded technology market.

"The business collaboration between our two companies will allow us to bring to the
market cutting-edge speech-enabled professional applications for the Mobile World,
whatever the market: be it in the automotive industry for Telematics applications,
or in the PDA, WDA or embedded applications markets," says Vincent Fontaine,
C.E.O. of Babel Technologies. "Babel develops speech technologies for all sorts of
mobile applications where noise filtering is essential, and has long since recognised
a gap in the market for speech-enabling Mobile Internet Professional Solutions and
  industrial applications.”

The combination of Babel’s advanced speech technologies combined with EZOS’
Mobile Internet experience will lead to a world-class range of professional applications.
Both companies have been targeting the same markets and by combining their
